Hello, hello and welcome to Boston!
It is hard to believe how fast half a year can fly by and how much can change in what seems like such a short amount of time. In January, I moved to Boston, MA to start my first full time job as a Research Engineer and have been busy since then adjusting to my new work - life balance. My boyfriend, Kyle, and I have been trying (many) new restaurants, going on day trips in the New England area, and of course visiting home when we can. Along the way, I have continued to taste new, unique and exciting wines that I cannot wait to begin sharing with you all again here on emmadozengrapes.com. I also recently completed my Wine Spirit Education and Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines course through the Napa Valley Wine Academy and am so happy to tell you that I passed the qualification exam! I am honored to be among many coveted wine professionals with this certification. It has been a busy, positive start to 2021 and I hope that it has been for you as well.
Look at the GORGEOUS label artwork created by local Boston artist Amanda Williams Galvin.
Without further adieu, it is only appropriate that I review the 2020 Boston Rosé from 90+ Cellars. 90+ Cellars is a Boston based, wine shipping service whose mission is to make great wine from across the world easily accessible. I was delightfully surprised by this wine in more ways than one. First, I could not get my nose out of the glass because it smelled so good! There is a strong aroma of crisp strawberry and lemon citrus, but it is grounded by a unique earthy minearlity. As it warms up, there are even some signature southern French rosé aromas of lavender. For $12, I was impressed with the depth and variety of aromas; they are very well defined as a southern French rosé, but has an exciting, fresh brightness that isn’t typical of old world style. It is dry, very smooth and does not have a tart acidity. The acid is well balanced by the round, medium - body. The crisp, red fruit flavors followed through on the palate, dominated by cherry and raspberry, that lingered on my tongue through the well balanced, medium + finish. Like the city of Boston itself, this wine is a harmonious combination of old and new world styles.
It would pair beautifully with a medium textured fish. If I could pair it with anything, it would be the seasonal Halibut a la Plancha I had earlier this year at Woods Hill Pier 4 in the Seaport district. It also paired well with this Cucumber Blueberry Feta Salad recipe from Wegmans!
The hydrangeas are currently in full bloom.
If you have any suggestions of activities, wine bars or restaurants in the Boston and New England area, please let me know! We are so excited for our next chapter and appreciate your continued support of emmadozengrapes!

This design is spectacular! You obviously know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
