Hey there! I'm Emma, the creator of this wine blog. My love for wine began in the fall of 2019 while taking an elective class to finish my bachelor's degree. Since then, I love nothing more than trying new bottles and sharing my thoughts about them with my friends. I've been lucky enough to have had some formal training through the Napa Valley Wine Academy and am WSET Level 2 certified. However, my interest has always been driven by the experience and enjoyment of wine.
I started this blog as a way to share my thoughts on different wines with a wider audience, and to help others discover new bottles they might not have otherwise found. Whether you're a wine pro or just starting to explore the world of wine, I hope you'll find something here that interests you.
I'm not going to lie, I have a weakness for Finger Lakes Riesling and Rhône Valley reds, but I'm always willing to try something new. I'll be covering a variety of topics on the blog, from wine regions and grape varieties, to food pairing and wine science. As a chemical engineering PhD student, I love to learn about the science happening throughout the processes in addition to tasting the wine. The science of wine-making is integral to producing and identifying exceptional wines, covering everything from fermentation in the wine tank, to tannin polymerization during aging and alcohol evaporation in the glass.
Above all else, I want to make wine accessible and fun for everyone. I believe that wine should be enjoyed, not feared or revered. So grab a glass, relax, and let's explore the wonderful world of wine together!
